Notes from the Coyotes’ 2023-24 schedule

The NHL regular season schedules have dropped, and things look better for the Arizona Coyotes. Spoiler alert, but things should be easier for the Desert Dogs next season.

Arizona will start the season Friday, October 13th, on the road, facing off against the New Jersey Devils. They will follow that up with three more games on the road, October 16th against the New York Rangers, October 17th against the New York Islanders, and October 19th against the St. Louis Blues. Three games in four days is always rough, but at least the Yotes don’t have to travel for their back-to-back.

The Coyotes had an extremely rough start last season because of construction at the Mullett, but things should be easier this year. Arizona may start on the road for four games, but better than the six games on the road, four games at home, then 14 games(!) on the road they started with last year.

The 14-game road trip stands out as one of the longer road trips an NHL team has had to take, and luckily the Coyotes have nothing close to that next season. The Coyotes will take three five-game road trips, one in November, one in late-February/March, and one in April.

Arizona will play in seven back-to-backs throughout the season, all of which are relatively spread out throughout the season.

Unfortunately, things aren’t all good for the Coyotes. They finish the season at home, hosting the Edmonton Oilers, but before that, they will be on a five-game road trip against Pacific Division teams. The Coyotes are looking to improve next season, and a late road trip may make things more challenging, even after a seven-game homestand to end March and start April.
